Dr. William Bolton graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine before completing a residency in General Surgery at Greenville Health System. He then completed a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at University of Mississippi.
Dr. Bolton has one office in South Carolina where he specializes in Thoracic Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Bolton works with six doctors including Dr. Mary Rippon and Dr. Wesley Jones.

Thoracic Surgery
Following rigorous and lengthy training, thoracic surgeons are uniquely qualified to perform complex surgeries on the chest, or thorax as it is sometimes called. Their focus is usually on the lungs, esophagus, and other areas of the chest, and may also include the heart. As such, Dr. Bolton may see patients in South Carolina for a wide range of surgeries, for example removing cancer causing tumors from the esophagus and chest wall, or even a lung transplant.

Cardiothoracic surgery is a highly specialized field of medicine that incorporates surgical procedures to treat diseases or trauma to the organs and structures of the chest – including the heart, lungs and esophagus. Dr. Bolton may perform both minimally invasive or invasive procedures ranging from angioplasty to open heart surgery or transplant surgeries.
